The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth center
After school I go volunteer at a youth center by my house. There are a wide range of activities I can help in. Everyday I go I am given a different task. If I am sent to the library I help the kids complete their homework help them read books and supervise them. Most of my time volunteering I was sent to the library. But when I wasn't there I would supervise the kids playing sports like baseball, soccer, basketball etc. I would also help with arts and crafts. Doing this helped me with my leadership skills and helped mature.
Kings Care Foundation
Three years ago I was asked by the Kings Care Foundation to be apart of their food drive. I had to go to the Staple Center on the nights the kings played. Groups of two or three were assigned a table outside one of the three exits. People that were attending the game would bring canned and boxed food and for every item they got they receive a raffle ticket to win a prize. Even though it was very cold outside I believe doing this was worth it because I knew I would be helping other people. I would be helping people who can't afford a Thanksgiving dinner. I made many peoples Thanksgiving dinner become a reality.
